VOX VOICE TREATMENT

The best way to get consistent results with vocal recording is to have a system that works perfectly and that you use every time; a workflow you know inside out.

At Vox we have such a system, which has been honed and refined over many years. For more information on our vocal treatment process, read below.

VOICE TREATMENT PROCESS:

VOCAL STACKING

We select and combine the best parts of multiple takes of your performance, to create a polished and cohesive final version. We handpick lines for the utmost precision.

COMPING

We write harmonies that can be as simple as a musical 3rd note weaving in and out over the main vocal line. Or as complex as a full four-part harmony that sends the chorus into the heavens.

We record multiple takes of the same vocal part and then select the best parts of each take to create a final version. This creates a fuller and more dynamic sound.

CLEANING

FINAL TOUCHES

We go through all the parts with a fine tooth comb, nudging the pitch of a single note, or transparently adjusting the volume of a whole phrase or single word so that the vocal hits the ear in the most pleasing way.

The vocal is cleaned up, removing any unwanted sounds, lip smacks, sibilance or plosives (the ugly stuff that doesn't sound good). Once that work is completed it's time for processing to enhance the beauty and clarity of the vocals.

We delicately apply dynamics, reverbs, delays, EQs, and exciters, ensuring that the vocals seamlessly integrate into the mix while retaining their distinct essence.
